For twenty years, First Coast Technical College’s School of Culinary Arts has participated in the annual Chocolate Gala hosted by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of St. Johns County.
“This is a terrific community event and FCTC students enjoy showing their chocolate making talents,” said Chef Scott Bennett, FCTC Culinary Manager. “We were honored to receive Best of Show and recognized as a 20 year Gala Exhibitor.”
FCTC graduate, Chef Matt Jacoby, now with Donavan’s Irish Pub, was awarded the distinction of Tastiest Sweet Treat.
During the Gala guests enjoyed chocolate samples from some of St. Augustine’s finest restaurants and specialty shops. Proceeds benefit the volunteer program and Early Learning Coalition of Putnam and St. Johns Counties.
FCTC is enrolling for April culinary classes with financial aid for qualifying students. For info go to www.fctc.edu, call 904-547-3282 or email ude.ctcfnull@ofni.
