The local aerospace industry needs highly-skilled employees and applications are being accepted for First Coast Technical College’s Aircraft Fabrication and Assembly program.
FCTC’s curriculum consists of classroom lecture and hands-on industry-specific practice that prepares students for aircraft structure, fabrication and assembly. Blueprint reading and safety ethics training are also included.
Graduates who complete the program will have the necessary skills to become a certified structural mechanic and possible employment in a variety of positions at aircraft manufacturers such as Northrop Grumman, St Augustine, or other area subcontractors.
Classes are held Mon-Thurs, 8:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., Nov 26th thru Feb. 11, 2013, on FCTC’s main campus, 2980 Collins Ave., St Augustine. A Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) is required.
