Welding Returns to FCTC Main Campus

FCTC WeldingFirst Coast Technical College announces the Applied Welding Technology program is returning to the college’s main campus in St. Augustine with classes scheduled to begin August 19th for adults and high school students.

“There continues to be a strong demand for skilled, certified welders in the St. Johns County area, so Welding is returning to St. Augustine,” said Sandra Raburn, FCTC President.

As a member of the American Welding Society, FCTC offers a nationally accredited program that places graduates at the top of the job market.  Shop and laboratory curricula are an integral part of the program and provide instruction in various processes and techniques of welding and fabrication skills.

“Because of the demand in Putnam County we relocated welding to our BargePort facility in Palatka several years ago,” Raburn continued.  “Beginning in August, FCTC will offer the program to students in Palatka and St. Augustine.”
