Pharmacy Technician is a 1050-hour course designed to prepare students for entry-level positions into the pharmaceutical profession. Pharmacy technicians perform routine tasks under the supervision of licensed pharmacists to perform technical and clerical duties in the systematic operation of the pharmacy. The program includes theoretical instruction and clinical practicum. Curriculum includes but is not limited to: medical terminology, pharmaceutical compounding, inventory maintenance, handling of hazardous materials, labeling/pricing orders, patient records, customer service, IV preparation, data processing automation, sterile techniques.
