Grounds Maintenance Technician II
- General Description
- Involved in the repair and maintenance of County parks, boat ramps and facilities.
- Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-
Assists the Lead Grounds Maintenance Technician with coordinating the activities assigned to his crew that are involved in the lawn maintenance and needed repairs at the County’s parks, boat ramps and docks, all playground equipment, and all lawn maintenance equipment.
Reviews and completes job orders as required. Ensures that all necessary tools and materials required are available to complete projects.
Coordinates with the Grounds Maintenance Coordinator to arrange for all lawn maintenance equipment to be available for assigned projects.
Ensures timely repairs to equipment assigned to his crew.Enforces safety regulations and insures availability of required safety equipment and protective clothing for his crew, as well as interprets County policies.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Maintains assigned vehicle in a clean and orderly fashion.
Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Requirements

A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Experience in landscape/lawn maintenance is desirable.
A valid State of Florida Driver’s License (Class B or higher is preferred) with a clean driving record is required.
