McKenzie discovered FCTC after a couple of her friends at Pedro Menendez High School mention their experience in the Welding class. She decided to apply to FCTC through Dual Enrollment for her senior year. McKenzie was accepted and started Welding in August 2022. McKenzie has enjoyed her instructor and learning the skills of welding. She is a great example of taking advantage of the educational opportunities FCTC has to offer. Even though she is a Welding student, she is also a student athlete in lacrosse and cheerleading. When she isn’t welding and competing, she works for the Scott Lagasse Racing team in St. Augustine.
