Pump Operator Series Course Descriptions
Fire Service Hydraulics – This course covers the relationship between flow and pressure, mathematical hydraulic formulas, pump theory, pump rating, and pressure and vacuum gauges.
Apparatus Operations – This course covers the laws, rules and driving techniques for emergency vehicles. Fire ground evolutions will include the use of pre-connected lines, dual and tandem pumping, drafting, relays and master streams.
REQUIRED ITEMS: Textbook- IFSTA Pumping Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook 3rd edition, pen, paper, helmet, gloves, and closed toe shoes for practical days.
