GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Primary responsibility is to provide support of computers and related technologies, including wireless devices, copiers, printers, monitors, networking equipment, multiple operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and software installation and configuration.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for those seeking technical assistance over phone, email, or thru ticketing system
  • Diagnose computer errors and provide technical support
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware and network issues
  • Installs, configures, and upgrades to computer hardware, operating systems and software
  • Verify with the end-user that the issue(s) have been resolved and update the ticketing system with resolution specifics, or escalate issue(s) to next support level when necessary
  • Assist with user account maintenance
  • Record events and problems with resolutions in appropriate tracking logs
  • Assist with inventory tracking, hardware management, and distribution
  • Troubleshooting and cleaning of printers, faxes, copiers, and other office technology equipment when necessary
  • Assist with opening and / or relocation of satellite offices/centers
  • Assist with hardware, software and security awareness training
  • Assume other responsibilities and perform special functions as may be assigned by management

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

  • This position reports to the IT Coordinator

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One-year related experience

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and office applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and individuals
  • Attention to details and follow through

LICENSES, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile coverage
  • Satisfactory Driving Record (as outlined in Vehicle Driving Policy)
  • Certificates of acknowledgement required: Conflict of Interest, Code of Ethics, Confidentiality agreements, IT Systems and Security, Anti-Fraud, HR Employee Acknowledgement Form.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Works inside in an office environment
  • Some travel required

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

  • Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)
  • Acceptable hearing (with or without correction)
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
