Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling transactions. This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a quick service or fast food restaurant setting. A background in food service or retail is preferred, as you will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through accurate order processing and effective communication. In addition to your hourly pay you will also receive cash tips daily, and credit card tips will be totaled into your weekly check.
Duties
- Process customer transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash handling procedures
- Assist with food preparation and ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- Upsell menu items and promote special offers to enhance sales
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier area and dining space
- Support team members with bussing tables and other kitchen duties as needed
- Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient operations during peak hours
Experience
- Previous experience in a cashier role or similar position within the food industry is preferred
- Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations
- Strong math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Culinary experience or knowledge of food preparation is a plus
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual responsibilities
- Experience with sales techniques, including upselling, is beneficial
