Fleet Mechanic
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Fleet Mechanic to manage our fleet maintenance department. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in maintaining and repairing a variety of fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate will also require strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. You will play a critical role in ensuring our fleet remains in safe and optimal operating condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, including trucks, vans, and utility vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and AC system issues.
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce vehicle downtime.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns when necessary.
- Collaborate with other team members and report to the Maintenance Director.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a fleet or automotive mechanic.
- Experience in vehicle air conditioning (AC) diagnostics and repair required.
- Experience in wheelchair ramp and adaptive equipment diagnostic and repair preferable.
- ASE certification(s) preferred (especially in HVAC and Brakes).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and work in various conditions.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize repairs.
