Reports to:     Food & Beverage Manager

Pay Grade:     201 ($15.75 per hour)

Minimum Qualifications

A.    Education and Experience:

Must possess high school diploma or GED.  Must be at least 18 years of age.  Food handling experience preferred.  Some experience in public relations/customer service preferred.  A comparable amount of training, education, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

B.    Certifications:

Florida ServSafe certification required or ability to obtain and maintain any government required licenses, certificate or permits required for food service workers.

C.    Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Must possess excellent oral communication skills.  Ability to problem solve and resolve customer concerns.  Ability to give and receive instructions and apply consistent courtesy and tact in public contact.

General Description

Responsible for preparing, cooking and/or providing food service to guests and maintaining cleanliness of facility and equipment.  Flexible schedule that could include weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions

1.    Prepares and cooks food; prepares beverages; serves customers.

2.    Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices

3.    Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.

4.    Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters

5.    Bake, roast, broil, fry, and steam meat, fish, vegetables, and other foods.

6.    Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption

7.    Maintains cleanliness of facility and equipment.

8.    Stock inventory and supplies.

9.    Take customer orders accurately; ensure customer safety as it relates to food allergies and recommend options to customer.

10.    Accept and process customer payments accurately.

11.    Maintain a positive attitude and ensure customer satisfaction.

12.    Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules.

13.    Other duties as assigned.

Essential Physical Skills

Acceptable eyesight and hearing, moderate lifting (up to 40lbs), ability to stand for long periods of time, carrying, kneeling, pushing, pulling, walking, balancing, running, bending, stooping, standing, sitting.  Issue and follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively and Reasonable accommodations will be made for otherwise qualified individuals with a disability.

Environmental Conditions

Works inside and outside in various weather conditions.  Tasks may require exposure to extreme temperatures, odors, loud noises, chemicals, and electrical current.
