ENTRY LEVEL AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE / LUBE TECHNICIAN
TheAutomotive Entry Level Service Technician/ Lube Technician functions as a technician who is able to perform diagnostics and repairs in all areas.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
- Communicates with Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
- Inspects and test drives newly delivered vehicles for obvious damage and missing major components and drivability functions.
- Installs optional equipment specified by the customer or dealer.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Ensures that customers’ cars are kept clean.
- Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals, returning to proper place.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner, reports safety issues immediately.
- Performs other duties may be assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Little or no experience is acceptable.
- Willingness to provide an outstanding experience in diagnosing and repairing vehicles

- Experience maintaining high customer satisfaction is highly encouraged.
- Knowledge of the specialized area and general vehicle repair is a plus.
- Mechanical repair skills is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
- Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
- Ability to read service and repair manuals.
- Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
- Ability to read work orders.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screen (background & hair follicle drug test).
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Drivers License and clean driving record.
- 2+ Years of Experience in a dealership or similar environment is a plus.
- Participant in a manufacturer-sponsored training program, school, or event is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Must be able to lift up to 45lbs. regularly.
- Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.
- Good vision to inspect repair work.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
