Automotive Electrical Technician

The Automotive Electrical Technician is responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems on industrial trucks and equipment. This role focuses on 12V/24V DC systems, including wiring harnesses, control panels, switches, lighting, and alarms. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment using schematics and build prints under supervision.

Key Responsibilities
Install and route wiring harnesses on trucks and industrial equipment
Wire and connect control panels, switches, relays, and electrical components
Install and troubleshoot lighting systems, backup alarms, and tank sensors
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and build prints
Perform testing and basic diagnostics using meters and test equipment
Ensure all wiring is completed to quality and safety standards
Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards)
Collaborate with production team to meet build timelines

Technical Skills
Basic understanding of DC electrical systems
Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
Experience with:
Wiring harness installation
Crimping and terminating wires
Relays, switches, and fuses
Familiarity with vehicle systems such as:
Lighting circuits
Control panels
Sensors and alarms
Tools & Equipment
Multimeter (voltage/continuity testing)
Test light
Wire crimpers and strippers
Basic hand tools

This position is a 50-hour work week, including 10 hours of overtime. 1st Shift (Monday – Friday): 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM 2nd Shift (Monday – Friday): 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM 3rd Shift (Friday – Monday): 4:00 AM – 4:30 PM Work 48 hours, paid for 52 hours

$20/Hr (Flexible based on experience.)

Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Technical training in automotive, electrical, or related field preferred
Experience
0–3 years of experience in one of the following:
Automotive electrical work
Vehicle upfitting
Equipment or truck wiring
Electrical assembly in manufacturing
Experience with 12V/24V DC systems strongly preferred
Manufacturing or production environment experience is a plus
