General Description / Primary Purpose
This position has demonstrated competence in every landscape and grounds task, including maintenance of turf, landscape beds, trees and associated tools and equipment.
Essential Duties 

Job Function
95% Technical Skills and responsibilities of a Groundskeeper. Landscape Maintenance. Troubleshoots lansdcape issues. Manage landscape installation. Equipment operation and Safety. This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed.

Marginal Functions
5% Participates in work with other Landscape and Grounds crews and other Physical Facilities departments as needed. Assists with campus emergencies and special events as directed by supervisor.
Required Qualifications Completion of ninth (9th) grade required; HS Diploma preferred. Some positions may require possession of a classified driver’s license appropriate to the type of vehicle operated.

Departmental Requirements
The department invites applications to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill Groundskeeper positions. The pool will remain open for one calendar year (through February 2022). Once the period of the pool expires, any remaining applicants in the pool will need to re-apply to be considered for appointment.

Appointment from a pool to a vacancy is not automatic. Only those applicants who have been assessed as suitable through a selection process that complies with recruitment and appointment standards can be considered for selection and contacted for an interview. All applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application by the conclusion of the recruitment process (February 2022).
