Nicholas Torchio

GED Class of 2021

“I’ve never had confidence in myself and didn’t ever think about pursuing my high school diploma,” said Nicholas. But then a job opportunity opened with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. With the confidence, support and push he received from his family, his GED instructor and his son, Nicholas changed that perspective.

“Every morning my son would tell me good luck in class Dad, you’ve got this,” said Nicholas. At the age of 50, Nicholas started at FCTC in November of 2020 and graduated February 23, 2021 with his high school diploma fulfilling his goal to work for St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
